Hi, I’m Allison!
(she/her)
I’m so glad you’re here.
Seeking out therapy with someone new is brave and commendable! So many of my clients arrive in my office feeling adrift, anxious, grieving, and disconnected from themselves. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that I care deeply about what you want for yourself, take our work together seriously, and believe in your capacity to achieve your goals.
Most of all: I want you to know that you’re not alone.
I’m a licensed therapist in Frederick, Maryland.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and creative. I’m gentle yet focused on keeping the work productive. I love watching my clients make progress towards their goals and I customize my approach to each client, using a creative blend of therapeutic tools and modalities.
My orientation is trauma-informed, emphasizes self-compassion, and honors the self-determination of my clients. I integrate cognitive, experiential, and mindfulness techniques to support deeply felt and lasting change.
The courage and wisdom of my clients inspires me every day. You are the primary expert in what it feels like to be you, and I believe in your power to make the shifts that you most want to see.
My Background, Training, and Therapy Style
-
I earned my MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2016 and am clinically licensed as an LCSW-C. I’m also an E-RYT 200 yoga teacher with over 16 years’ experience teaching yoga and meditation.
I’ve received hundreds of hours of advanced, specialized training at the Beck Institute for CBT, the IFS Institute, the Center for Excellence in EMDR therapy, and the American Society for Clinical Hypnotherapists.
I’m licensed in Maryland, Washington D.C., Delaware, and Connecticut. I’m physically located in Frederick, MD and provide telehealth services to out-of-state clients.
-
I have over a decade of experience supporting clients through divorce, relational trauma recovery, developmental trauma and adverse childhood events, infertility, ADHD, grief, and perimenopause & menopause.
I have worked in multiple clinical settings over the years including community mental health, specialty practices, and outpatient services. I have been in private practice since 2026.

My approach is integrative, personalized, and focused on modalities that emphasize lasting changes you can really feel. I draw from:
IFS & EMDR, to anchor mindset changes safely in the body and resolve long-standing challenges originating from adverse life events
Relational therapy, to explore and make sense of patterns in how you connect with others
Mindfulness and self-compassion practices, to help you rewire negative self-talk and experience a sense of internal safety
Cognitive evidence-based methods, like CBT and ACT, that I integrate to help clients understand, restructure, and replace habitual patterns of thinking and acting
Hypnotherapy, to access and initiate deep change from within the subconscious mind and acclimate the body to relaxation rather than chronic stress responses
A few things about me:
I love old-growth trees, the ocean, and reading. I believe in the regulating power of the natural world, and I consciously designed my office to feel like a nature retreat.
I experienced early-onset perimenopause in my late 30’s, which inspired me to focus on perimenopausal/menopausal-informed care.
I think therapy should feel organic and natural. I often laugh with my clients!
My favorite books are Women Who Run with the Wolves and Braiding Sweetgrass.
What clients say about working with me:
“I feel like I have more emotional choice in my life, like I can really trust myself now.”
“Allison is so comforting. She’s very easy to talk to! Every session feels productive. I always leave learning something new and feeling better than when I went in.”
“Working with Allison makes me wish everyone had a therapist. Therapy has helped me in so many ways!”
Let’s talk and see if therapy might be a good next step.
